Donna Marshall

POSITION: Owner + CFO

WORK: A long-time advocate of creating a just economy for the fishing fleet of Gloucester while practicing best sustainable practices inspired me to help found Cape Ann Fresh Catch.

PERSONAL: Philanthropist. Working tirelessly for Asian elephants in Nepal while supporting the local economy and creating a free lending library for children there. Today the elephant sanctuary is the home to 6 elephants and employs 22 Nepali people.

WHY CAFC: Fourth generation fishing family from the Gloucester seaport.

WHEN NOT AT WORK YOU CAN FIND ME… caring for horses, and goats. I live in Rockport with my husband Bill and our four dogs.

Melissa Marshall

POSITION: Owner + COO + Head Smoker @ Twin Light Smokehouse

WORK: After 9 years working in Shanghai in supply chain and sourcing, the family biz and Cape Ann summoned me home during the pandemic.

PERSONAL: 6th generation to work in the fishing industry here on Cape Ann. I am as local as the fish we sell.

WHY CAFC: “It runs in the family”

WHEN NOT AT WORK YOU CAN FIND ME… screaming for the Celtics, on the ocean, gardening and volunteering for animal rescue groups. My growing family includes three dogs and one cat.

NANCY CRATE

POSITION: Owner + Organizational Development Director

WORK: I spent 10 years in HR and consulting, 25 years raising kids, 15+ years working (almost) full-time on non profit boards and now part-own a fish company. Not sure how that happened.

PERSONAL: I don’t know why my kids think I love my two Jack Russell Terriers more than them?

WHY CAFC: “I love the story of this company.”

John Lewis

POSITION: Director of Brand + Growth Marketing

WORK: Always seeking the convergence of business and creativity. CAFC is the story of Gloucester MA which is such a unique part of New England.

PERSONAL: I wore a Yankees cap visiting Boston as a 13 year old kid. Grown men screamed obscenities at me as I walked down Commonwealth Ave. Now I live here.

WHY CAFC: “I <3 smoked fish.”

Mike Marshall

POSITION: Digital Marketing Associate

WORK: Before graduating from Gallaudet University I did it all…valet driver, Trader Joe’s – I hustled. Fast forward to now and I work in social media!

PERSONAL: There is nothing I love more than sports.

WHY CAFC: “I want to support my family’s business.”

Jalen Flores

POSITION: Seafood Processing + Smoker

PERSONAL: Gloucester High grad

WHY CAFC: “I’m local and so is this company. It’s also safer than roofing, something I did for about 3 years.”

WHEN NOT AT WORK YOU CAN FIND ME… playing and coaching basketball in the Gloucester Community and creating memories with my friends and family.

Austin Davis

POSITION: Seafood Processing

PERSONAL: Born and raised in Gloucester. Graduated from Gloucester high school in 2014. Attended Pine Manor College where I played basketball. I also coach high school boys basketball.

WHY CAFC: “More fun than working in a bank!”

WHEN NOT AT WORK YOU CAN FIND ME… laying basketball, hanging with my friends and going on dates with my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years.
